Novelist, Playwright,Theatre Director
Susan Mosakowski is a novelist, playwright, director, and former Co-Artistic Director of Creation Production Company, an interdisciplinary theatre company in New York City.
Her plays and theatre works have been produced at The Flea, Manhattan Theatre Club, La MaMa, P.S. 122, Dance Theatre Workshop, the Padua Hills Playwrights Festival (LA), The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Painted Bride Art Center, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Southern Theater (Mpls.), The Baltimore Theatre Project, The Kunsterhaus Bethanien in Berlin, and others. She has received commissions from The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, and The Working Theater. Her awards include: a Rockefeller Foundation Playwriting Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Playwriting Fellowship, three Northwest Area Fellowships, a J.M. Kaplan Foundation grant, and numerous NYSCA grants.
In 2016, her focus shifted, and she began writing for different genres. Short stories and essays soon led to her first novel, Trading in Dreams.
